Lanny Hanks

Lanny brings more than 20 years of law enforcement and investigative experience to his instruction, including service as a narcotics and violent crimes investigator and as a SWAT commander. Throughout his career, he worked complex investigations, led high-risk operations, and collaborated closely with prosecutors at both the state and federal levels, including providing courtroom testimony and serving as a Grand Jury Investigator. His background is supported by extensive specialized training in areas such as homicide investigation, counter-drug operations, federal case development, advanced interviewing techniques, and investigative technologies.

Lanny remains committed to ongoing professional development and continued education. He is a Counter Terrorism Instructor, USCCA Concealed Carry & Home Defense Fundamentals (CCHDF) instructor, NRA-certified pistol, rifle, and shotgun instructor, Nebraska CHP Instructor, Tactical Operations Instructor, Advanced Bodyguard Operative, Private Security Detail Operative, and a certified Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) provider. He also serves as an NRA Chief Range Safety Officer and actively competes at the regional and national levels in 3-Gun and USPSA competitions.

Known for a calm, approachable teaching style, Lanny enjoys helping students build confidence, sound judgment, and practical skills through clear instruction and real-world perspective.

Stephanie Schafer-Todd

Stephanie began her firearms journey in 2010 and has been instructing since 2015 as a USCCA, NRA, and Nebraska CHP Instructor. She brings a welcoming, supportive approach to training while maintaining high professional standards and a strong focus on safety, confidence, and practical skill development. Her instructor credentials include USCCA Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals (CCHDF), NRA Pistol, Rifle, and Shotgun Instructor certifications, Certified Range Safety Officer, and Refuse to Be a Victim Instructor.

Stephanie is certified to teach USCCA Women’s Handgun & Self-Defense Fundamentals as well as Countering the Mass Shooter Threat, and she has completed additional instructor development through the SIG Sauer Academy and A Girl and A Gun. While she enjoys teaching shooters at every level, her favorite course is the Women’s Beginner Handgun Course, where she helps students build a strong foundation in a comfortable, encouraging environment.

 

In addition to her instructional work, Stephanie serves as a Facilitator for the WyoBraska Chapter of A Girl and A Gun Women’s Shooting League. She is passionate about helping women become confident, informed, and responsible firearm owners—whether for personal protection, recreation, or competition. Stephanie also competes locally and nationally in 3-Gun and USPSA matches, bringing real-world shooting experience into the classroom and onto the range.

 

Stephanie has represented Women for Gun Rights and strongly supports the organization’s mission of education, preservation, and advocacy. Through this work, she engages in constructive dialogue with legislators at both the state and national levels to promote informed discussions surrounding firearms education, gun rights, and the Second Amendment.

Brad Van Pelt

Brad is a highly credentialed firearms and tactics instructor with extensive training and operational experience. His certifications include USCCA Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals (CCHDF), Advanced Private Security Operator (PSD), Advanced Bodyguard Operative, Combat Shooting and Tactics (CSAT) Instructor, Advanced Tactical Shooter, and NRA Range Safety Officer. He is also a certified Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) provider and actively competes at both the regional and national levels in 3-Gun and USPSA competitions.

Brad is dedicated to training shooters across all experience levels, from those new to firearms to advanced competitors seeking to refine their skills. His instruction emphasizes efficiency, control, and real-world application. Known for his exceptional tactical shotgun proficiency, Brad’s smooth, rapid shooting technique reflects years of experience in sporting clays and translates into precise, high-performance instruction.

Jake Miller

Jake brings over six years of experience in firearms training and education, complemented by five years of competition-style shooting. He is dedicated to developing safe, competent, and confident shooters across all experience levels. His instruction emphasizes disciplined fundamentals, real-world application, and the highest standards of responsible firearm handling.

Jake’s credentials include USCCA Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals (CCHDF) certification and NRA Range Safety Officer certification. Known for a structured and professional teaching approach, he is committed to providing comprehensive, hands-on instruction that promotes confidence, consistency, and long-term proficiency for both new and experienced shooters.

Leslie Miller

Leslie brings five years of competitive shooting experience to her instruction. She is a USCCA Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals (CCHDF) certified instructor and is committed to providing high-quality firearms education in a safe, supportive, and confidence-building environment.

Leslie’s instruction emphasizes disciplined fundamentals, responsible firearm handling, and practical skill development. Known for her approachable and encouraging teaching style, she is dedicated to helping shooters of all experience levels build confidence, competence, and comfort with their firearms through structured, hands-on training.
